NO LEFT TURNS AT INTERSECTION
As early as Saturday, Dec 7, left turns at the intersection of 2700 West and Bangerter Highway will not be allowed. Drivers will have right-on and right-off access to Bangerter Highway. As part of the new traffic configuration on Bangerter Highway, traffic will be reduced to two lanes at the intersection. Through traffic for northbound 2700 West will be reduced to one lane and southbound will remain two lanes through the intersection.
This traffic configuration will be in place through fall 2025. See the maps below for details.
Pile Driving Begins
Starting Monday, Dec. 9, crews for the Bangerter South project will begin pile driving activities at the intersection of Bangerter Highway and 2700 West in preparation for building the new overpass. During this time, nearby residents can expect an increase of noise, dust, and vibrations.
Due to night noise restrictions, pile driving operations will only be conducted during the day.
ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
TEMPORARY FENCING REMINDER
Temporary chain-link fencing has been placed at properties along Bangerter Highway where the noise walls were temporarily removed. If you notice any issues with the fencing, please reach out to the project hotline or email as soon as possible. Try to keep pets from damaging the temporary fencing. Placing rocks, wooden planks, bricks or other spare materials along the fence line in your backyard can help prevent further damage.
CONSTRUCTION STAGING AREA
The previously empty dirt lot on the northwest side of Bangerter Highway at 2700 West is owned by UDOT and will serve as a construction staging area for materials and equipment through the duration of the project, which is anticipated to be complete fall 2025.
Pedestrians are not permitted to enter this staging area, as it is an active construction zone.
Nearby Residents Can Expect:
-
Trucks entering and exiting the work zone and staging area
-
Increased noise, dust and vibration
-
Storage of construction materials within the staging area
-
Project vehicles parked on the street along 13760 South
-
Construction equipment parked in the staging area
MOUNTAIN VIEW CORRIDOR STORAGE SITE
As part of the Bangerter project, crews will use the empty space on Mountain View Corridor (MVC) between 12600 South and 13400 South as a storage site. Activities at this site could include material hauling and storage, recycled concrete crushing operations, machinery storage and other construction needs as necessary. This storage site will be in place for the duration of the Bangerter project, which is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2025.
Bangerter Highway and MVC are coordinating on utilizing the empty spaces along MVC to reduce the expensive and long hauling distances to landfills. This demonstrates UDOT’s commitment to one of its core values, to be fiscally responsible. UDOT sees recycling of concrete, which for this project will be reused on Bangerter Highway, as an innovative transportation solution. Recycling of concrete also contributes to UDOT’s efforts to reduce construction waste in landfills and importing materials from gravel pits.
Nearby residents can expect increased noise, dust, vibration and construction vehicles entering and exiting the site. Due to night noise restrictions, most activities will only be conducted during the day.

Temporary lane closures during the day and at night are possible as crews complete various construction activities. Please note that even though you might not see workers actively working on the roadway, the traffic control devices are in place for a reason, including the safety of both drivers and crew members.

What to Expect:
-
Increased noise, dust and vibration
-
Overhead lighting for nighttime activities
-
Temporary lane closures
-
Trucks entering and exiting the work zone
-
Traffic shifts throughout the project area
-
Reduced speed limit in the work zone
-
Traffic delays, so please plan additional travel time
